Community Partner Highlight: Ross Stores

Long-time partner, Ross Stores, continues to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the month of August. Ten locations across Fresno County are accepting donations for Boys & Girls Clubs, and Ross Stores are matching every dollar! So far, funds have exceeded our expectations—every store is reaching their goal.

This annual fundraiser invites customers to donate at checkout to support our Power Hour program. Ross matches these donations, up to a total of $400,000. On a national scale, thanks to the generosity of Ross customers and associates, this annual fundraiser has raised more than $23.5 million dollars in the last seven years.

Since the start of our local fundraiser, July 31st, Boys & Girls Club members have gathered at various Ross Stores to bring awareness to the impact Clubs have in their neighborhood. Members of all ages greet customers, share their stories, and tell them about how they can make a difference.

On August 12th, a group of Zimmerman Club members went to Ross and really put a smiles on everyone’s face. Every time someone donated at the register, they would ring a bell and yell “Thank You!” One boy even helped keep the carts in order by the front door.

“I am really proud of our members for understanding the importance of fundraising but I am most proud of how kind and helpful they were to strangers,” said Alicia Audelo, Zimmerman Unit Director.

With only five more days of fundraising, members are determined to get the word out. Come say hello! More importantly, get to know our kids. This way, when you give, you really know the impact your gift is making.
