 About the Event

The Westside Fundraiser Luncheon fully benefits the Clubs of Huron and Firebaugh. The inception of this 14 year tradition started in Huron, CA. A group of compassionate and driven producers and farmers- complete with their army of suppliers, vendors, and packing houses- saw a way for the Boys & Girls Clubs to continue operations and keep the impact of the Club alive in those communities. Many of the kids attending the Clubs are from families of the farming community. Every spring, supporters gather at the Harris Ranch Inn & Restaurant to raise as much funds for the Clubs.

In 2015, the former Huron Club Director, Alex Garcia, was having lunch with one of the farm owners. They talked about the conditions of poverty, lack of after-school programs, and unemployment levels that affect the children. They discussed the value of the Boys & Girls Clubs and the need to serve even more kids in the Huron area. The Westside Fundraiser Committee stepped up again and built a brand new Clubhouse in Huron, which was then the new location for the Huron Club. This Club is called the Harris Farms Club in honor of this movement.

It’s important that the generosity of these special individuals get properly acknowledged and appreciated for the level they give back to their communities and the seeds of success being planted for the families of their hard-working employees.

Thank you!
