The 67th City-County All Star Football Game
Game Results: 2nd Quarter Propels County Team to Win 35-0
The county all star team took home the win, 35-0 at the 67th City-County All Star Game. Despite the 109-degree weather, thousands of fans gathered at the Tom Flores Football Stadium to cheer for their favorite high school seniors from across the Valley.
This is the longest running high school football game in California. A team in Fresno County is selected to compete against a team within city lines. It is the ultimate City vs County game.
For 20 years now, The Optimist Club of Greater Fresno has organized this enormous event to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County. They believe in our continuous efforts to provide education, recreation, and character building services for all youth. With 15 Clubs currently open, youth all around the Central Valley depend on the proceeds generated to support youth-services from this annual event.
Kick off was at 8:05pm, followed by a moment of silence for posthumous team captain, Alexander Galindo.
No one scored in the first quarter.
Half time was comprised of a hot air balloon show and dueling banjos.
High schools represented on the winning team include; Sanger High, Selma High, Kingsburg High, Buchanan High, Clovis East, Caruthers High, and many more.
