Several Donors Fund New A/C Unit at Pinedale Club

Several generous donors came together to fill a desperate need at the Pinedale Club—cool air.  Summers in Fresno can be unbearably hot for some people. It can be difficult to stay focused, let alone play sports or a game in a room that has no air conditioning. Unfortunately, our Pinedale Club has experienced this difficulty for many years.

Pinedale Unit Director, Onelia Anguiano said, “Members didn’t stop coming because the Club is their second home, but it was difficult to keep them cool with how much physical activity they wanted to do. During the summer months, we play many water games and give out popsicles but it is not enough. The rooms would be 96 degrees and kids were sweating while doing homework.”

In April of this year, Onelia attended Pinedale’s annual Pinedale Community Cares Luncheon. It was there that she expressed her concern for her members due to lack of cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. Insufficient air conditioning was something administration and parents were concerned about as well.

Richard Antenucci, insurance representative from DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance, collaborated with Matt DiBuduo, Mike DeFendis, and another generous donor to fund this major facility project. Cost Less Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning stepped in and donated labor costs as well several monetary donations that resulted in a brand new air conditioning system at the Pinedale Club.

“I made some calls to my friends who agreed to support this project," said Richard Antenucci, "I’m very blessed to have great friends who always step up to help with special projects and this one was no different."

By the end of the summer, the Club’s average daily attendance grew and members were more involved in regular programing.

“I am grateful someone stepped up and fixed a major a problem we were having,” said Onelia Anguiano.
