March Madness at Zimmerman Club

The pressure was on as our Zimmerman teens battled Planet Fitness Staff Members in a basketball tournament on March 18th. March Madness has been a great tradition in our Clubs and has resulted in many new members experiencing the Club for the first time. Players bring their friends and family to watch the game and existing members cheer on their friends from the sidelines.

Sandra Dee Chaney, BGC Director of Community Relations & Special Events said, “It’s a lot of fun watching members play their heart out and working together for a common goal. I think they inspire the younger kids to play too!”

The tournament started with teens checking in at 4:00 PM and warming up in the gym. When Planet Fitness Staff Members arrived, the games were on. Four teams were created and one was victorious. At 6:00 PM Buffalo Wild Wings arrived with dinner for the entire Club.

We are grateful for community partners who come along side us and motivate young people to do their best. Organized sports has been a fan-favorite activity for members and their families for years. This year, many sports leagues who had to pause due to COVID safety concerns made a comeback. This has resulted in young people lining up to join the Clubs.
